The Stained Glass instructor at Meridian Activity Center is Beth Covert who has been teaching for several years. She is a skilled artisan in this process – we are not painting glass! – we use stained glass which we cut by hand, apply leading or copper foil and solder the pieces together. The Center provides tools for your use, although you may purchase your own tools if you wish. You need to be a self-starter to take this class, it is usually full of returning students who know their way around a piece of glass.
A fun process begun as another avenue to this class is the mosaic stepping stone workshop, taught on Saturdays when we have enough people interested in trying it out. No persnickety exacting cutters are we! It is a lot more immediate and rewarding. (If you happen to be that sort of person.)
