State Farm will host the Meridian area Child Safety Day event at Percy Bland's office located at 1602 24th Avenue near Midtown Grille Restaurant on May 19 from 10:00 am until 2:00 p.m. State Farm will partner with the Meridian Police Department for this event. The Police Department will provide certified technicians to conduct the child passenger and booster seat inspections. They will also provide an officer available for child finger printing. State Farm's Public Affairs office will provide the ink pads and the Good Neigh Bear Print booklets. This program provides parents with child identification materials. The Good Neigh Bear Prints Booklet has pages for parents and law enforcement personnel to complete. A child's basic identification information, dental information, fingerprints, and photograph can be recorded in the booklet. These booklets should be kept in a safe place by parents and could be useful in helping to locate children missing on a long-term basis. A photograph can be taken of the child and inserted into the booklet to assist with the completion of the child's basic information.
