Meridian Public Safety Training Facility
At the Training Facility four trailers have been purchased and two have been set up for additional classroom training. Two are being held for the purpose of eventually creating a full-time Academy at Okatibbee Lake. A mountain of debris has also been added to increase our rescue and recovery capability in any natural disaster.
The Meridian Police Department joined the ICAC (Internet Crimes Against Children) task force earlier this year and currently has five investigators assigned to the Attorney General's Task Force.
The ICAC Task Force Program was created to help state and local law enforcement agencies enhance their investigative response to offenders who use the Internet, online communication systems, or other computer technology to sexually exploit children.
