The responsibility for Elections comes under the Finance and Records Department. Should you have questions, feel free to phone our office. You may also access the Mississippi Secretary of State website for up-to-date information regarding elections, and the election process. Just click on the following link: http://www.sos.ms.gov/elections.aspx. This will take you to the State’s home page for Elections. You will find the most current information, as it is made available to us. The “publications” tab provides a calendar, a Municipal Elections Candidate Qualifying Guide, a Campaign Finance Guide, and a Municipal Elections Handbook. There are additional items listed on this page, but the ones we have mentioned are ones you may want to check out first if you are interested in running for an office during the next municipal election or if you are someone who may be helping during the next municipal election. Keep in mind that these items may be downloaded free from the link provided. If you contact our office and ask for copies, we will charge a minimum of $.25 per page. There will be a charge for time as required when appropriate.
