City of Meridian Water Billing office located on the 2nd Floor of City Hall 601 24th Ave Office Hours: 8:15 a.m. - 5 p.m. Monday-Friday Billings: Include water, sewer & garbage fees. Billing cycles are 28-32 days. Payment is due within 10 days of billing. Your account may be set up on bank draft. Please contact our office for details. Service charges are: $10 off delinquent $10 off and locked $20 meter pulled $30 NSF check fee Rates: Water: $3.31 per 1,000 gallons for the 1st 2,000 gallons & $3.58 per 1,000 over 2,000 gallons Sewer rates are the same as water (except during the period of April 1st through October 31st, when sewer is the same as water except it will not exceed the average sewer paid for the previous 6 month period) Minimum Bills: There is a minimum monthly bill requirement based on meter size. Most residential meters are 5/8". New Year's Day Martin Luther King Day Independence Day Thanksgiving Day Christmas Day Place & Size of Containers Placement of containers or debris: shall not exceed 5 feet from curb or edge of traveled portion of road and shall not be placed in any drainage ditch. Placement shall occur by 7 am Monday through Friday and shall be removed no later than 7 pm. Customer Container-44 gallon or less not to exceed a loaded weight of sixty (60) pounds. Trash bags are also approved containers.

As of March 1, 1993, the City of Meridian residents began participating in Mississippi's most comprehensive curbside recycling and yard waste composting programs. Waste Management of MS & Meridian constructed Mississippi's first Recycle America Processing Facility, located on Hwy 80 E. This facility is where recyclables are brought, sorted into various categories, crushed and bundled for transportation. These recyclables are then delivered to users of recycled materials where they are made into new products. Plastic, aluminum cans and newspapers are picked up once a week.
