City Hall Moved

City Hall is now moved to Temporary City Hall at 2412 Seventh Street . As of the opening of business Wednesday, September 13, ALL city business, with the exception of Community Development functions, will be conducted at the temporary location.

Customers who wish to pay water bills in person, apply for business licenses, register to vote or conduct other city business should go to the temporary site. Also, people who have business to conduct with the mayor of chief administrative officer should also go to the temporary building. Community Development functions, including planning, zoning and inspections are now at 723 23rd Ave, in the Arts District Parking Garage.

Offices that had been located on the first floor of City Hall have moved. Those included Personnel, Civil Service, Risk Management, Clerk of Council, Equal Opportunity Office and Custodial.

Customers who pay their water bills by mail should continue to do as they have always done. Drive-through customers have a new drive-through service at Trustmark Bank downtown.

The move to temporary quarters is part of the process of restoring historic City Hall to its original condition. The project is expected to take approximately 2 1/2 years, which should be completed by May 2009.

The Community Development Department has moved into the retail spaces in the new Arts District Parking Garage, and the Engineering Division has moved into the second floor of the administration building of the Public Works Department at 311 27 th Avenue .
