Meridian Fire Department Press Release

On Oct. 4, 2008 units of the Meridian Fire Department responded to a residential trailer fire at 3920 5^th Street. During the fire operation, firefighters discovered the body of a white male inside the trailer.

Detectives from the Meridian Police Department were called to assist the fire investigators of the Meridian Fire Department. The cause of the fire appears to be an accidental cooking fire.

The preliminary autopsy report from The Mississippi State Medical Examiner office lists the cause of death as smoke inhalation.
